To allow audiences to immerse themselves in China’s historical culture and magnificent landscapes, China Cultural Center in Stockholm has established “Nihao! China” Digital Experience Gallery, incorporating cutting-edge technologies such as Extended Reality (XR) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) to create an immersive VR cultural experience space. In this digital environment, you can virtually explore China’s most iconic landmarks and learn about Chinese culture with the guidance of a virtual tour guide. The first two featured experiences in the digital exhibition are “A Timeless Poem on Tengwang Pavilion” and “Beijing’s Central Axis”.
A Timeless Poem on Tengwang Pavilion

In 675 AD, Wang Bo, one of the “Four Literary Eminences of Early Tang”, attended a grand Chongyang Festival banquet celebrating the completion of Tengwang Pavilion’s restoration. At this feast, Wang Bo spontaneously composed the timeless masterpiece Preface to Tengwang Pavilion. The prose vividly depicts the pavilion’s scenery and the banquet’s grandeur while weaving in philosophical reflections on life’s uncertainties. Preface to Tengwang Pavilion endures as a pinnacle of “parallel prose” (a classical Chinese literary form emphasizing symmetry and ornate diction). This work elevated the pavilion from a mere banquet hall to a cultural and spiritual landmark, standing resilient through centuries of upheaval.

This immersive VR experience reimagines the legendary encounter between Wang Bo, the pavilion, and his prose. Using virtual reality (VR), spatial computing, and LBE large-space exploration technology, we’ve recreated the pavilion in hyper-realistic 1:1 scale within a virtual world. Step back in time to attend the grand Tengwang Pavilion banquet from a millennium ago, where you’ll watch the Zhezhi Dance, a celebrated performance from ancient Chang’an. Meet Wang Bo and observe the prodigy composing Preface to Tengwang Pavilion in real-time. Explore the scenic wonder described in his prose “The rainbow clouds with lonely bird together fly; The autumn water blends with the endless blue sky”, and the philosophical universe inspired by Wang Bo’s verses.
Night at the Beijing Central Axis
Do you still remember the “Night at the Beijing Central Axis” during the Chinese New Year? Many viewers didn’t get the chance to experience it. No worries—starting today, as long as you visit China Cultural Center in Stockholm, you can still stroll through various landmarks along the Central Axis and explore old Beijing. “Beijing Central Axis: A Building Ensemble Exhibiting the Ideal Order of the Chinese Capital” was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In the digital exhibition hall, visitors will begin their journey at the Bell and Drum Towers at the northern end of Beijing’s Central Axis, following the rooftop guardian beast “Little Longzai” on a mysterious voyage through time. Travel back over 750 years to witness the construction of Dadu, the capital of the Yuan Dynasty, and observe how its chancellor, Liu Bingzhong, designed the city in harmony with the cosmos. Experience the secrets of history, the transformations of heaven and earth, and the heartbeat of Beijing. Immerse yourself in exploring the origins of the Central Axis, the Chinese wisdom behind its design, and the beauty of “artistic conception” in Chinese philosophy.
