Riverside Mountain City Exhibition Feedback

Riverside Mountain City Photography Exhibition, held at China Cultural Center in Stockholm from August 23 to September 6, attracted a large number of visitors. The impressive works and unique curatorial concept were highly praised by the audience. During the exhibition, many attendees remarked that the photographs “captured authentic moments of real life”, and that the interplay between black-and-white and color images “created a dialogue that felt timeless.”

Featuring over 30 black-and-white photographs, Riverside Mountain City Photography Exhibition presented a fascinating dialogue across a century. The historical images, taken a hundred years ago by the family of Professor Ramon Wyss from the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH), captured the perilous journeys through the Yangtze River’s Three Gorges and the early scenes of Chongqing, the “mountain city”. In contrast, Swedish photographer Daniel Fredholm offered a vivid portrayal of modern Chongqing – from bustling hotpot stalls and vibrant markets to lively neighborhoods and city life. Concurrently, The Moment of Chongqing City Photo Exhibition showcased a contemporary Chongqing where ancient cultural heritage blends with modern technological development.
