On June 7th, the King’s Garden Square in Stockholm was filled with the fragrance of zongzi leaves and bustling with people. The “Hello! China” Dragon Boat Festival Garden Party, organized by China Cultural Center in Stockholm, joyfully opened here. Nearly ten thousand local residents and overseas Chinese in Sweden gathered together to experience the unique charm of traditional Chinese festivals in an immersive way.
This garden party meticulously planned three core sections, bringing the audience an audio-visual and gustatory feast.
Chinese Flavor:
On the Tip of the Tongue,
Intangible Cultural Heritage

A special snack street was set up at the event, bringing together over 20 local Chinese restaurants in Sweden. From soft and fragrant traditional zongzi, intangible cultural heritage snacks from Beijing, to spicy and flavorful skewers, the rich variety of cuisines not only eased the homesickness of overseas Chinese but also delighted the taste buds of Swedish locals. While savoring authentic Chinese flavors, everyone also learned about the cultural stories behind the food, creating a lively and bustling atmosphere at the scene.
Cultural Experience Zone:
Oriental Aesthetics at Your Fingertips

The cultural experience zone was bustling with popularity, becoming a must-visit spot for everyone. In the “Tea for Harmony” experience area, the aroma of tea filled the air, conveying the Eastern philosophy of making friends through tea. The intangible cultural heriftage experience zone attracted many families, where Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology brought tie-dye, and the Shaanxi NGO Network for International Exchanges presented traditional crafts like paper-cutting and northern Shaanxi folk songs, allowing everyone to personally touch Chinese craftsmanship. Additionally, booths for Go games, calligraphy and painting, martial arts performances, and traditional Chinese medicine consultations were surrounded by curious audiences. On-site, thoughtful setups included “Travel in China”, “Study in China” and a consular service station, providing local residents with detailed information on travel to China, short-term exchange programs, and practical tips, building a bridge for communication.
