Upcoming Event: “Story of China” A Lecture Series on Chinese Language and Culture

How did Chinese cultural artifacts find their way to Sweden? What stories lie behind these treasured collections? And what makes Chinese traditional music continue to resonate across time and cultures?

On June 27, the “Story of China” Lecture Series on Chinese Cultural Knowledge, jointly organized by China Cultural Center in Stockholm and the “Chinese Bridge” Club Stockholm, will take place at China Cultural Center in Stockholm. Through lectures, interactive discussions, and live performances focusing on Chinese cultural artifacts, traditional music, and ethnic musical instruments, the event will offer participants an opportunity to explore the richness and unique charm of Chinese culture.

📖 First Lecture: “To Keep and to Treasure” Origin and Heritage of Chinese Cultural Artifacts in Sweden

The lecture will be presented by Xiao-Jun Xu from the Chinese Bridge Club and Alexandra Xu from Catawiki. Together they will discuss the origin, collection, and transmission of Chinese cultural artifacts in Sweden and share insights into their historical and cultural significance.

A Q&A session with consultation and valuation will follow the lecture.

Second Lecture: “The Unforgettable Tune” Chinese Traditional Music and Instruments

Erhu Artist will introduce Chinese traditional music and instruments through lecture and live performance.

The lecture will conclude with an instruments demonstration and performance by Sisi Huang and Jingjue Ren and so on.
