The 13th APEC Tourism Ministerial Meeting kicked off in the Macao Special Administrative Region on Saturday, with delegates touring a special exhibition integrating culture and technology. On display were traditional Chinese medicine therapies, translation augmented reality (AR) glasses, humanoid robots and exoskeleton assistive devices, offering foreign delegates an immersive experience of China’s cultural heritage and cutting-edge tech innovations.
Among the highlights of the exhibition, the traditional Chinese medicine exhibition area attracted particular attention from delegates. Demonstrations of acupuncture, gua sha and cupping therapies encouraged many visitors to stop, observe and experience these traditional practices firsthand. Eduardo Pedrosa, Executive Director of the APEC Secretariat, said he is particularly fond of traditional Chinese medicine and highly recommended gua sha, noting that it helps promote blood circulation and is especially beneficial for people who travel frequently.
