18 September – 18 October 2019

From September 18 to October 18, China Cultural Center in Stockholm will present “Contemporary Chinese and Swedish Book Design exhibition”.
101 book designers from China and Sweden will display their 220 works that either are the winners of the annual competitions of “The Beauty of Books in China” or “Swedish Book Art”.
Workshops and seminars will be held to further spread the Beauty of the books.

Collaborators with China Cultural Center in Stockholm are the Book Design Committee of the Publishers Association of China, Ulmaja & Co and Svensk Bokkonst (Swedish Book Art), with support from Konstnärsnämnden (Swedish Art Board) and Arctic Paper.

“Western books are like a solid building, while eastern books are like soft sculptures, taking into account the advantages of both sides to create books that readers like in the new century. The content of this workshop is to make a modern western book with five senses of paper and rich Oriental book feeling with the traditional binding method of ancient China.”
