On May7th, the “Tea For Harmony Yaji Cultural Salon” organized by Ministry of Cultural and Tourism of the People’s Republic of China, co-organized by China Cultural Center in Stockholm, Sichuan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, Ya’an Municipal People’s Goverment, was successfully held at the China Cultural Center in Stockholm. Cui Aimin, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to the Kingdom of Sweden, Ms. Susanne Andersson, CEO of Visit Sweden, Li Rui, Cultural Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Sweden, Ms. Song Qiu, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Culture and Tourism of Sichuan Province, and other more than100 guests from China and Sweden attended the event.

Ambassador Cui Aimin mentioned in his speech that tea is the spiritual symbol of the Chinese nation and the link and bridge connecting China and the world. The core of Chinese tea culture is the tea ceremony and the soul of Chinese tea ceremony is “harmony”.  Chinese tea culture contains the common values and moral norms of the Chinese nation.  Today, the Chinese people pay more attention to the health benefits, pleasure, and cultural functions associated with drinking tea, and give tea more connotations such as health improvement, character-cultivation and fostering relations. In 2022, China’s traditional tea processing techniques and associated social practices were incorporated into the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, becoming part of the valuable asset shared by the whole humanity.


Ms. Susanne Andersson said in her speech that culture is fundamental to our identity and cultural is also a driver for traveling. By supporting and promoting our cultural heritage, we can not only boost the economy but also create a sense of pride, identity and understanding. And the China Cultural Center in Stockholm creates and offers a contact area for understanding.

Ms. Song Qiu, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Culture and Tourism of Sichuan Province made a promotion of Sichuan culture and tourism
Mr. Zheng Huyong, Deputy Mayor of Ya’an Municipal People’s Government made a promotion of Ya’an culture and tourismZuo Qingyuan, marketing director of Sichuan Yacha Holding Group introduced its tea products.During the event, Sichuan Province and Ya’an City introduced the rich cultural and tourism resources of Sichuan Province to the guests, and held a Sichuan elegant tea tasting and exchange activity. The culture of “meeting friends with tea” allowing the guests to experience the daily life of Sichuan.
Wang Fei, the global promotion ambassador for Chinese tea culture and the national-level tea art master showed the wonderful Tianfeng Tea Art with 12 moves.

Wang Panpan, the ambassador for Sichuan tea culture to presented Dragon eighteen-style of Mengshan tea technology and a stunning Sichuan face-changing performance.

Timothy Pilotti, Swedish Peking Opera actor presented Peking Opera martial arts performance.
   
The guests who attended the event expressed that Chinese tea culture is diverse and colorful, and the giant pandas in Sichuan are cute and lovely. They said that they would definitely go to China to see the pandas and try the most authentic Sichuan food while enjoying tea.

The “Tea For Harmony Yaji” – Sichuan, Home to Pandas and Tea picture exhibition will last until June 9.
