Lanting Culture Salon cultural experiences were held by China Cultural Center in Stockholm, Consulate-General of China in Gothenburg, and Section of Educational Affairs and Cultural Affairs of the Embassy of China in Sweden on April 25 and 26. On April 26, China Cultural Center in Stockholm hosted “Lanting Culture Salon and International Chinese Language Day” event. Chinese Ambassador to Sweden Cui Aimin attended and delivered a speech. Notable attendees included Johan Fresk, editor-in-chief of Sweden’s Fokus Kina magazine, and renowned painter Birgitta Muhr, who gave lectures on Chinese-Swedish cultural exchanges. Over a hundred local Chinese culture lovers participated in the event. Attendees showed keen interest in cultural workshops featuring ink painting, calligraphy, printmaking, and tea art.

  

On April 25, “Lanting Culture Salon and International Chinese Language Day” event, co-hosted by China Cultural Center in Stockholm and Consulate-General of China in Gothenburg, was held for the first time in Gothenburg, Sweden. Nearly 100 participants attended, including renowned Swedish linguists and cultural scholars; Chinese language learners and international students from the University of Gothenburg, Chalmers University of Technology, Lund University, and Jönköping University; students from Chinese language schools in the consular district; members of Sino-Swedish families; and representatives from Swedish cultural and educational circles. Consul General Yang Peidong delivered opening remarks and presented a lecture on “Historical Development of Chinese Characters”. The event featured displays of traditional Chinese cultural elements, such as Guqin, Weiqi, calligraphy, ink painting, and Chinese dance performances. Attendees engaged in hands-on workshops based on their interests, including Weiqi, calligraphy, ink painting, Hanfu (traditional Chinese attire), and paper cutting.
