In May 2025, Chinese Wushu Association and Swedish Budo & Martial Arts Federation jointly organized a Chinese martial arts training camp in Stockholm. Over 150 martial arts enthusiasts gathered from across Sweden to participate in a 10-day systematic training program under the professional guidance of coaches from Chinese National Wushu Team, injecting new vitality into cultural exchanges between the two nations.
On May 19, the closing ceremony of the martial arts camp was held at China Cultural Center in Stockholm. Li Rui, Cultural Counsellor of the Chinese Embassy in Sweden and Director of China Cultural Center in Stockholm, attended the event. Outstanding Swedish trainees and Chinese coaches jointly performed, bringing the atmosphere to a climax.
At the closing ceremony of the training camp, Peder Finnsio, Chairman of Swedish Budo & Martial Arts Federation, stated that the program had significantly enhanced the influence of Chinese martial arts in Sweden. He emphasized that Swedish practitioners had achieved a qualitative leap in technical proficiency while attracting many new enthusiasts to the discipline. He also expressed eagerness to establish a long-term cooperation mechanism with China Wushu Association to foster the thriving growth of martial arts in Sweden.
